The Swarovski CL Companion is a redesigned CL series binocular model. Swarovski's goal was to create a compact and lightweight binocular at a lower price point that would appeal to a wider audience than Swarovski's more expensive top models. Despite the lower price, the CL Companion binoculars offer the familiar Swarovski quality in terms of both accuracy and image quality.

The Swarovski CL Companion 10x30 binoculars are available in three different accessory packages. Each accessory package includes a different-looking binocular case and neck strap:

• Urban Jungle

The Swarowski CL Companion is slightly smaller than most binoculars with a 32mm front lens, but slightly larger than most compact binoculars with a 28mm or smaller front lens. The binocular tubes are connected by a very small bridge. The design has reduced the weight of the binoculars and has made it possible to have a better grip on the binoculars.

Unlike Swarovski's EL and SLC series binoculars, the CL Companion binoculars' body itself is made of a polycarbonate-aluminum alloy. The magnesium alloy used in more expensive binoculars is more expensive, so this is one way Swarovski has managed to keep the price of this binocular model down. Although polycarbonate and aluminum are heavier than magnesium, the body of the small binoculars requires so little material that the difference would not be significant. When comparing the 490 gram Swarovski CL Companion 8x30 binoculars to, for example, the Kowa Genesis 10x33 XD (590g) or Nikon EDG 8x32 (655g), it can be said that this is relatively light.

The body of the binoculars is covered with a thin rubber coating almost the entire length of the binoculars, except for small details and the hinge. The rubber coating is not quite as thick as in other Swarovski binocular models, but thick enough to protect the binoculars from bumps and scratches. The textured rubber coating also provides sufficient grip even when handling the binoculars in wet conditions. When going into wet conditions, the CL Companion binoculars are waterproof up to four meters. In addition, the binoculars' nitrogen filling prevents internal fogging of the lens surfaces during rapid temperature changes.

The small CL Companion binoculars have a rather large focus ring that rotates smoothly and smoothly with a small amount of friction. This small amount of friction prevents accidental movement of the focus ring. The closest focusing distance is 3 meters. To focus from the closest focusing distance to infinity, approximately 180 degrees of movement, or about one full rotation of the focus ring, is required.

The diopter adjustment is another thing that Swarovski has changed in order to make the binoculars more affordable. While the flagship EL series has the diopter adjustment placed on the focus ring, the CL Companion binoculars have the diopter adjustment around the right eyepiece. In other words, in the same place as most other manufacturers' binoculars. This change is not critical at all, as the diopter adjustment theoretically only needs to be used once.

Swarovski CL Companion binoculars come with a rain cover and front lens caps, as well as a Northern Lights accessory pack strap and bag.
