A wireless microphone system designed for cameras equipped with Sony's Multi Interface (MI) hot shoe. Includes two transmitters, a receiver and a charging case.

The Sony ECM-W5 is a wireless microphone system designed primarily for cameras equipped with Sony's Multi Interface (MI) hot shoe. The receiver connects directly to the camera's MI hot shoe, enabling cable-free digital audio recording and power supply directly from the camera.
The transmitter has a convenient clip attachment, so it can be easily attached to a shirt collar, for example. The locking 3.5 mm TRS connector also allows you to connect a separate lapel microphone to the transmitter.
It comes with two wireless microphones that transmit audio up to 500 meters away to a receiver that attaches to your camera, smart device, or computer. With MI-compatible Sony cameras, the connection is completely cable-free and digital. A 3.5 mm TRS cable is included for connecting other cameras. The included charging case keeps the system always ready to use, and with the USB-C adapter, the receiver can also be connected to a phone.
Auto Gain adjusts to changes in volume, preventing clipping and distortion. In manual mode, the adjustment range is -12…+12 dB. The volume can also be fine-tuned manually during 32-bit float recording.
The receiver can also pick up sound from the microphone of compatible Sony wireless headphones and record it to the camera. With a compatible microphone, the system supports 3D binaural recording, which records not only the speaker's voice but also the surrounding sounds with a natural sense of depth.
The included windscreens effectively reduce noise caused by wind and weather, ensuring clear and crisp sound quality in all conditions.
