Like Sirui, the mechanical quality is very good and based on initial tests, the image quality is also great. Sirui is better known for its tripods, but has been making optics such as additional lenses for smartphones for several years. Now it's the turn of a true anamorphic lens. In a nutshell, this means that the lens flattens the image horizontally to contain a 33% larger image area. In post-processing, the 16:9 video image recorded by the camera is expanded to a magnificent 2.4:1 aspect ratio. The end result is very cinematic and characteristic of this technology without cropping the video image.

Previously, these types of lenses have been very expensive, designed for use by large film studios. Another option has been to use adapters and regular lenses, but these also have the problem of being expensive or of poor quality and more difficult to use.

The lens is compatible with M43 Micro Four Thirds compatible cameras.
