The lens body is made of metal and the weather protection has also been improved, there is now a seal around the bayonet. The Samyang MF 85mm is designed entirely for Nikon Z series cameras, the lens is manual focus, but with the help of the sharp viewfinder and focus aids of Nikon bodies, focus is found quickly. In addition to visual aids such as Focus Peaking and partial magnification, Nikon Z bodies can show whether the focus is on target with a separate mark, in addition, the body also tells you in which direction the focus ring should be turned if the image is not completely sharp. The fast optics also help here, the depth of field is at best so small that you can clearly see in the image that the focus area is on target.

The focus ring on Samyang's manual focus lenses is rubber coated and suitably cushioned for better feel. The lens also has a physical aperture ring. Autoexposure on Nikon bodies works normally with the lens.
