The Panasonic 25-50mm F1.7 is a long-awaited novelty! This is a great lens on its own or a really good pair for the Panasonic 10-25mm F1.7 lens. This set replaces primes with a focal length range of 20-100mm - i.e. covers most of the needs of a photographer and videographer. The sharpness is at a very high level, which means this is ready for higher resolution bodies like the Panasonic GH6.

Both lenses are the same size, and the zoom ring and focus ring are also in the same position . This is especially useful for videographers. There is no need to rebalance the gimbal and there is no need to adjust the follow focus systems, you can change the lens and continue working straight away.

This Panasonic 25-50mm F1.7 has a cine equivalent of 50-100mm, making it a fast telephoto lens. The aperture is constant throughout the entire focal length range.

The lens' autofocus is fast, meaning it keeps up with subjects even though the depth of field is shallow due to the high aperture. The shortest focusing distance is 28-31cm depending on the focal length, meaning the front element of the lens gets very close to the subject.

Panasonic is a video product expert and this is reflected in the lens's features. Focus breathing is very minimal, meaning that when the focus changes, the image remains unchanged.
