This is a revised version of Olympus' 9-18mm ultra-wide-angle lens. In cine format, the focal length is equivalent to an 18-36mm lens.
Despite its scope, it is not a fisheye lens, meaning that by carefully composing, you can make the lines in buildings, for example, appear straight, or by boldly turning the camera, you can more effectively emphasize the proportions in the image.
The super wide angle of phones like the iPhone has taught even newer photographers to be bolder in experimenting with wider focal lengths. In addition to photos, this works great for video shooting and, for example, with the OM-5 body, the set also becomes really compact and weighs just over half a kilo. Especially in the transport position, the size of the lens is strikingly small at less than 5cm.
The updates to the first version are technically moderate, the coatings have been improved and a new lens hood that can be rotated into the transport position is included.
