The autofocus is fast and there are limits on the side of the lens for the focus area if you are shooting objects at a certain distance and there are branches in front, for example.
Despite the long focal length, Olympus has designed the lens to work well for handheld shooting. The image stabilizer is effective by three aperture stops. The lens comes with a detachable lens hood that can be turned to the side or up for a better shooting position. The lens also has a zoom lock to make it easier to carry by hanging it on a shoulder strap. The lens weighs approximately 1.1 kilograms.
