The NiSi AIR Protector is a high-quality and simple basic filter whose sole purpose is to protect the front lens of your lens from impacts, dirt and scratches without compromising image quality.

The optical glass of the filter has a whopping 48 layers of multi-layer coating (24 layers on each side of the glass). Most of these layers are AR or Anti-Reflective coatings. Their function is to prevent light from being reflected back, which increases the light transmission of the filter to an excellent 99.8 percent. This means that the camera practically does not even notice the presence of the filter.

The outermost layer is an extremely thin nano-coating (hydrophobic and oleophobic layer). This creates a car wax-like property on the glass: water drips onto the surface and grease does not stick. This makes it much faster and easier to wipe fingerprints, dust or raindrops off the filter surface than on uncoated glass.

This basic model has a lightweight aluminum body. The design has been kept low (slim profile), so the filter does not cause vignetting, i.e. darkening of the edges of the image, even when shooting with wide-angle lenses. This is an excellent choice when you are looking for a reliable and good-value basic protection for your lens.
