The Nikon Speedlight SB-700 is a good entry-level flash unit for Nikon SLR cameras. The device's clear LCD screen and logically placed controls make it quick to check and change settings during shooting.

The flash head tilts up 90 degrees and down 7 degrees. It also rotates horizontally 180 degrees in both directions. This wide range of motion allows you to soften the light by easily bouncing it off a ceiling or wall, for example.

You can choose from three different lighting patterns (standard, center-weighted, and flat) to suit your needs. The automatic motorized zoom adapts to the camera and adjusts the beam width according to the lens used (24–120mm).

The SB-700 makes shooting easier by automatically recognizing the included hard color temperature filters (incandescent and fluorescent). The flash transmits the information to the camera, which can directly adjust the white balance to the correct value.

A built-in overheating protection monitors the temperature of the flash head. If the device becomes too hot during heavy use, it automatically extends the charging time to prevent damage.

The unit supports Nikon's Advanced Wireless Lighting system. It can be used as a wireless controller (Master) for two separate flash groups (A and B) or as a slave flash (Remote). Quick Wireless Control mode makes it quick and easy to adjust the power ratios of different flash groups.
