Tripod use is recommended: The powerful 12x magnification amplifies natural hand shake significantly more than smaller binoculars. Although short-term viewing is possible handheld, for the best viewing experience and stable image, it is recommended to mount the binoculars on a tripod or monopod using a separately sold tripod adapter (e.g. Nikon TRA-2 or TRA-3 or any third-party adapter).

High magnification and wide field of view

The 12x magnification brings objects really close. The challenge with high magnification is often a narrowing of the field of view, but the Action 12x50 model has a relatively wide 60.8 degree apparent field of view, making it easier to locate objects from a distance.

The binoculars' 50mm front lens helps collect enough light to support high magnification even on cloudy days. Nikon's multi-layer coating used on the lenses cuts reflections and ensures that the image is clear and high-contrast.

Practical structure
