Leica's small binoculars - you can take these with you on every trip! They offer amazing image quality for their size, especially in good light.
The first thing to notice about these binoculars is their size. They are 9cm long, 6cm wide and about 3.5cm high when folded in the transport position. So they can fit into a slightly larger jacket pocket. The small transport position is possible with the help of a clever double joint. As with Leica, the mechanical quality is good, the joint and the aluminum frame feel sturdy in the hand despite the size.
The aluminum frame has a rubber coating that is very durable and shock-absorbing. Like larger Leica binoculars, the Trinovid 8x20 is not completely waterproof, it can withstand splashes but not immersion, meaning there is no nitrogen gas between the lens surfaces, for example. The outer lens surfaces are coated with a dirt-repellent coating that makes cleaning easier.
The eye relief from the eyepiece is a maximum of 14mm, meaning the binoculars are also suitable for people who wear glasses, but not as good as larger models.
It comes with a real and padded neck strap, not just a wrist strap, and a protective case.
