The Laowa 105mm lens is for portrait photography and if you want a creamy soft bokeh effect. The apodization that adjusts the brightness and background softness is adjusted from separate rollers, so you get razor-sharp image quality and soft background control directly from the lens.
This lens works in a similar way to Fuji's ADP and Sony's STF lenses, but this one is fully manual focus. The focus ring is large and the focus is adjusted so that a small viewfinder can work with a short depth of field.

The lens has two separate aperture adjustment rings, one for adjusting the T value and the other for adjusting the F value. The T value determines the intensity of the bokeh effect and the amount of light reaching the sensor. The F value adjustment, on the other hand, is more for adjusting the depth of field. Both aperture values are adjusted independently, meaning that changing one value does not affect the other value.
A lens hood is included.
