How does the Kowa BD III differ from the more affordable SV III series?

The biggest difference between these and the more affordable SV III series is the materials used and the field of view. With the BDIII binoculars, you can see a wider view at the same magnification, meaning you can find objects faster and looking at them may even cause a wow effect!

The differences in image quality and brightness are due to the more advanced lenses used. The BDIII series binoculars feature XD lens elements that correct errors. These lenses effectively eliminate errors such as chromatic aberration, meaning the image appears sharper. Nikon uses the name ED for similar lenses.

The roof prisms of the binoculars are coated with C3 coating which reduces light loss, meaning a brighter image. The mechanical quality is also better in the BDIII binoculars, the body is made of very durable magnesium , which is coated with a green rubber coating.

Smooth usability
