Adding external mass to the camera (such as a wireless microphone) shifts the center of mass of the entire system. If the accessory were located at a long arm from the camera body, it would create a large torque arm that would multiply the torque applied to the 1/4" mounting thread on the bottom of the camera (torque = force × distance). This would increase mechanical stress and degrade the accuracy of the camera's internal gyroscope (FlowState stabilization) by causing additional wobble at the end of the arm. The adapter's low-profile design keeps the mass of the accessory as close to the camera's vertical axis as possible, minimizing rotational inertia and keeping the assembly physically balanced even during fast movements. The aluminum alloy material dampens mechanical frame noise transmitted to the microphone more effectively than hard plastic.

Usability and 360 photography:

Depending on the model, the device is mounted on the side of the camera or directly between the tripod threads on the bottom so that it does not cover the camera lenses. This arrangement is specifically designed so that the microphone or receiver remains in the "blind spot" (stitch line) of the 360 ??camera, allowing the software to still hide the mount and accessory from the final video image. This allows you to bring professional, interference-free audio or directional additional lighting to the camera without the need for large and cumbersome camera cages.
