In addition to the drone, the Basic Combo set includes an extra battery, a battery charging hub, waterproof protective bags for the batteries, and an RTK tracking beacon (Lighthouse) that can be attached to the arm.
HoverAir Aqua is the world's first fully waterproof, self-flying drone that can take off and land directly from the water. It's designed specifically for water sports, the coast, and long days on the lake or in the archipelago. Simply select the appropriate shooting mode and send the drone flying - no remote control required!
Just like the manufacturer's previous models, the Aqua is like a flying action camera for capturing the fun. Flying a regular drone over water always causes a little heart palpitations and caution (and its biggest competitor actually prohibits this in its terms of use), but the HoverAir Aqua completely eliminates that fear.
With its floating, IP67-rated, and corrosion-resistant design, the drone encourages you to film right in the middle of the spray, whether you're kitesurfing, stand-up paddleboarding, or boating. And if a surprise wave knocks the device upside down in the water, the ingenious TurtleFlip feature automatically turns the drone right side up.
And on the other hand, this is also suitable for peaceful cabin flying, where water resistance brings its own added safety.
The core idea of ??the HoverAir Aqua is complete freedom. When moving on the water, there is no time to stare at the controller screen, so the device takes care of the flying for you. The drone has over 10 automatic flight modes, and water athletes have their own optimized modes that understand the motion paths of surfing or kayaking, for example.
Traditional drones' machine vision-based tracking can easily miss a target if there's a splash of water. Aqua's solution to this is completely superior: The Basic Combo package includes a wearable Lighthouse beacon that uses professional-grade RTK (Real-time kinematics) positioning. Thanks to the beacon, the drone knows your location, even if you're momentarily out of sight in the trough of the waves.
The beacon also functions as a convenient remote control, allowing you to start filming or call the drone back to you with the press of a button.
Water and fast-paced situations demand a lot from a camera, especially due to the strong reflections on the water surface. The Hoverair Aqua's 1/1.28" CMOS sensor records 4K HDR video at 60 frames per second, which is great for capturing fast-paced scenes. Water sports stunts can be recorded in 4K 100fps slow-motion video, so every drop of water is drawn smoothly into the image.
The lens is treated to be water-repellent and features self-heating, anti-fog technology, so any seawater that hits the lens drains away quickly without ruining the shot.
For a drone weighing less than 250 grams, the Aqua's flight characteristics are simply superb. The top speed of 55 km/h is easily enough to follow a jet ski or motorboat, for example, and the device can withstand winds up to level 7 (approx. 17 m/s). This makes it an exceptionally reliable companion for the windy coasts and archipelagos of Finland.
The device has a built-in 128GB memory, where material is safely stored directly. Due to the waterproof nature, there is no separate memory card slot.
