Haida Slim PRO II Multi-coating UV Filter

The Haida Slim PRO II is a thin-framed protective filter that keeps the front lens safe from scratches, dust, splashes and fingerprints. The size range is exceptionally wide: the filter is available from 37 millimeters to 82 millimeters, so you can also find a suitable size for small fixed lenses and compact cameras, for which it is often difficult to find a protective filter.

The benefit of a thin frame is seen at wide angles. When the angle of view is wide enough, a thick filter frame can start to appear as dark areas in the corners of the image, and the Slim frame is designed to minimize this risk.

The glass has a 10-layer multi-layer coating that reduces reflections and ghosting. The surface repels water and grease, so droplets and fingerprints are easily removed with a microfiber cloth. In digital cameras, UV light is filtered in front of the sensor, so the filter does not change colors or exposure and can be kept on the lens permanently.

A protective filter is cheap insurance: a dent or scratch hits the filter, not the front lens, and replacing the filter costs a fraction of the cost of repairing the lens. For more demanding conditions, where impacts and sand are a part of everyday life, Haida also offers more durable Bluestone and Premium Brass protective filters.

The correct size is the diameter of the lens's filter thread, which can be found on the front of the lens or inside the lens cap after the ? symbol. For small sizes, it's also worth checking the thread pitch: for a 37mm filter, it's 0.75mm.
