Haida Premium Brass protective filter with brass frame and Schott B270 glass. 36 layers of coating and 99.8% light transmission, sizes 52-95 mm. Excellent value for money.

Haida Premium Brass is a protective filter for valuable lenses. Most filters have an aluminum frame, while Premium Brass uses brass, and the glass is German Schott B270 optical glass. The light transmission is up to 99.8%, which is on par with the best protective filters from other manufacturers. Excellent value for money!
The benefit of a brass frame comes when something happens. The most common reason for a filter to get stuck in a lens is a dent that bends the thin aluminum frame, and the aluminum also easily sticks to the aluminum thread of the lens. Brass is more resistant to bending and doesn't stick to the thread in the same way, so the filter comes off more easily even after a dent.
There are 18 layers of coating on each side of the glass. They reduce reflections and ghosting, repel water and oil, and improve the surface's scratch resistance. Raindrops and fingerprints can be wiped off with a microfiber cloth, and the filter will stay clear for a long time.
The frame is only 3.1 mm thick, which keeps the risk of vignetting low at wide angles. The roughened edge is easy to grip even with wet or gloved hands. In digital cameras, UV light is filtered in front of the sensor, so the filter does not affect colors or exposure, and it can always be on the lens.
The cost of a protective filter is a small fraction of the cost of an expensive lens. When a lens is valuable, the filter is always on and occasionally replaced with a polarizer or gray filter, a durable frame and the best possible transmission easily pay for themselves. In practice, this applies to most owners of interchangeable lenses who shoot outdoors and carry equipment with them.
The filter is available in sizes 52-95 mm, including the largest zoom and telephoto lenses.
