Haida Bluestone protective filter made of German Schott B270 glass. 24 anti-reflective layers, water and oil repellent surface and a thin 3.1mm frame. Available in sizes 52-95mm.

Haida Bluestone is a protective filter made of German Schott B270 optical glass. The clear and color-neutral glass lets light through without changing the tone of the image, and the thin 3.1mm aluminum frame keeps the filter unnoticeable even on wide-angle lenses.
The filter absorbs dirt, splashes and fingerprints, keeping the front lens element clean. Both surfaces of the glass are treated to repel water and oil, so cleaning the filter is quick and easy with a microfiber cloth. There are also 12 layers of anti-reflective coating on each side, which reduces reflections and ghosting, for example when shooting against backlight.
According to Haida, the thin frame does not vignette even with wide-angle lenses, and the roughened edge provides a good grip when attaching and removing the filter. Also, bumps hit the filter first, and replacing the filter is significantly cheaper than repairing the front lens.
In digital cameras, UV light is filtered in front of the sensor, so Bluestone acts as a clear protective glass that does not affect exposure and can be kept on the lens at all times.
The filter is available in sizes 52-95 mm, so you can also get the cover for large telephoto lenses with a 95mm filter thread. You can usually see the correct size on the front of the lens or on the inside of the lens cover after the ? sign.
