The Fuji XF 16-55mm f/2.8 R LM WR II is a completely redesigned, high-quality, weather-sealed zoom lens. The lens is shorter and 37% lighter than the original, while the filter thread has been reduced to 72mm. Weighing just 410g, this lens is perfect for travel without compromising on quality.

At the same time, Fuji has also revamped the optical design and the lens is promised to be better even on the manufacturer's 40-megapixel high-resolution bodies. So the update has been quite extensive and the only thing that is the same as the previous lens is the name and focal length.

However, accuracy is not always the most important feature of a lens. Attention has also been paid to the quality of the drawing in the design, and according to Fuji, blurred backgrounds are drawn softer than the previous model. This means that the bokeh is in order, for example, making portraits more peaceful. The Fuji XF 16-55mm F2.8 II is also the first Fuji lens with 11 diaphragm blades.

Fast autofocus is handled by a linear focus motor. According to Fuji, it can focus in as little as 0.02 seconds. The motor also responds quickly and quietly, making it suitable for video recording.

The closest focusing distance is only 30cm, half the previous version. The lens has an adjustable aperture ring and the aperture clicks can be turned off for video use, for example.

Weather protection is in order, as with Fuji, the lens has 12 different rubber seals and the outer lens element is coated with a fluorine coating that repels dirt and makes cleaning easier.
