Elinchrom THREE Single studio flash with battery

THREE is the middle member of Elinchrome's new battery flash series, the other members being ONE and FIVE.

The Elinchrom Three hits the sweet spot when it comes to flash power and size. The compact ONE is suitable for indoor and location shooting, but not necessarily for bright conditions, especially if the flash is paired with a large light modifier. The FIVE, on the other hand, is physically larger, and can be unnecessarily powerful in many situations. The THREE combines the best of the two (twice as powerful as the ONE, yet physically smaller than the FIVE), making it an excellent device for the mobile photographer, both in the milieu and in the studio.

As usual, the Elinchrom THREE offers TTL, HSS features and USB-C charging. The Elinchrom THREE light weighs about 1.8kg with the battery, which is about the size of a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, so the flash is easy to carry and can also be used handheld when a light stand is not available.

The closest alternatives to the Elinchrom THREE flash are the Profoto B10X and Godox AD300 Pro flashes.

The Elinchrom THREE is suitable for both milieu photography with a larger light modifier, as well as indoor photography, either in the studio or when you are shooting on location. The charging speed between shots is fast even at partial power (0.08-1.2 seconds). At full power, you can take up to 725 photos, so you can shoot for a longer gig with this.

The Bi-Color Led control/model light has a power of 20W and the power and color temperature of the light are adjustable in the range of 2700-6500K! The color rendering is excellent, CRI 95. So in addition to still images, these lights can also be used for video shooting.

The THREE flash has a built-in radio receiver and is compatible with Elinchrom SkyPort triggers.

The flash comes with an Elinchrom to Profoto adapter and a metal Elinchrom OCF adapter for light modifiers.
