DJI Ronin 3D Focus System

A very interesting new product! With this LiDAR technology-based focusing system, you can turn manual focus lenses into autofocus lenses! In addition to this device, it requires the DJI RS 2 stabilizer and the DJI Ronin Focus Motor.

However, there are several very nice examples on Youtube of how well the technology works. And the price is cheap if you also need a gimbal stabilizer. How would an autofocus anamorphic lens feel using, for example, a Sirui 35mm lens? This combined with DJI ActiveTrack 3.0 pattern recognition and object tracking gives great possibilities.

Because the distance measurement is based on radar and not contrast or phase detection, this works even in very dark conditions!

Note: To calibrate the focus, the lens must be in focus with the so-called hard stop at both ends of the focus ring. This means that this is suitable for old film-era lenses, most cinema lenses, but does not work for so-called focus by wire lenses.
