Since its first release, the Osmo Action has been battling GoPro for the title of king. The Osmo Action 4's trump card is its large sensor. The 1/1.3-inch sensor is large by action camera standards, much larger than the 1/1.9-inch sensor in the GoPro Hero 11 or the 1/1.7' sensor in the Action 3 before it.

In practice, DJI claims that dynamics and noise tolerance in low light have improved by about 1 stop in the Action 4. So if you shoot a lot in low light, the Action 4 could prove to be a worthwhile upgrade.

The Osmo Action 4 is everything you need in an advanced action camera and more. It can withstand temperatures as low as -20 degrees Celsius, is waterproof to 16 meters, has better color quality even when diving (improved white balance), and the wet touchscreen works well before and after diving.

The Osmo can also be used as a webcam and switching to portrait mode on the move is easy with the quick release. The Horizon Steady feature stabilizes the horizon of the image at high speed even if the camera is rotated 360 degrees, and HorizonBalancing does the same if the camera is tilted up to 45 degrees on the move.
