The RTK positioning module allows you to obtain positional information from DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise and Mavic 3 Thermal drones with an accuracy of up to a centimeter, taking the accuracy of mapping data to a whole new level. The module requires reference/correction data for precise positioning, which can be provided by DJI's D-RTK2 ground station or via a virtual RTK service.

RTK, or Real Time Kinematics, is a process in which GPS data produced by a drone is corrected in real time. In RTK, a second GPS system is used in addition to the drone's own GPS system, and the information produced by the two systems together enables significantly more accurate positioning than a single system.

Virtual RTK services in use in Finland include the National Land Survey of Finland's DGNSS service FINPOS, Geotrim Trimnet VRS, Trimble, Leica, Topcon and Point One. Alternatively, the DJI D-RTK2 base station, which is sold as an accessory, can be used.

The module is screwed onto the drone and connected to the drone's PSDK connector. After this, the RTK method and virtual service to be used are selected from the controller. Using the virtual service requires an internet connection.
