The Air 3S is a similar update to the Air 2S's update to the Air 2. The biggest change is the larger 1' sensor size of the main camera, which offers 50Mpix resolution as well as 4K/60fps video recording and 120fps slow motion at 4K resolution. In addition, there is updated obstacle detection, which brings improvements especially in darker lighting conditions, and 42GB of internal memory instead of the previous 8GB, meaning there is plenty of space for footage if you forget your memory card at home.

Two cameras

The DJI Air 3S is another drone outside the DJI Mavic 3 series that has two cameras - here there is a traditional 24mm wide-angle lens with an f/1.7 aperture and a 70mm lens with an f/2.8 aperture.

Everyone is used to the traditional drone-style 24mm focal length, so the 70mm focal length is something that has been longed for in aerial photography. With the narrow angle of view of a medium telephoto camera, the perspective is close to what the human eye sees, and subjects can be captured more dynamically and vividly.

Why buy the DJI Air 3S instead of the DJI Mini 4 Pro? The Air 3S is for pilots who value image quality. The Mini 4 Pro is a great little drone, but the Air 3S comes with two cameras for more flexibility. The Air 3S also offers better battery life, greater range, and more internal storage.

Air 3S or Mavic 3 Pro? If you're looking for one drone that can do many things without having to pay the maximum amount, the Air 3S is your choice. Of course, with the Mavic 3 Pro you get a third camera, with a large 4/3-inch image sensor for better image quality for both stills and video.

Battery and battery life

The DJI Air3S comes with a 4276 mAh (62.6Wh) battery that provides up to 46 minutes of flight time in ideal conditions, which is about 40% more than the previous Air2S. Flight time is affected by many factors, and a realistic flight time for normal shooting is about 35-38 minutes, which is an excellent time.

It is possible to use Air 3 batteries with the Air 3S drone. Please note that the Off-State QuickTransfer function is not available in this case.
