The Celestron Starsense LT80AZ is a reticle telescope for observing the starry sky. A high-quality basic telescope for beginners, for example.
Best for viewing planets and other bright objects. You'll also get great views of the moon! Comes with two eyepieces, a 2x barlow lens. Also includes a red lace finder if you use the telescope without the Starsense phone mount.
This telescope's Starsense system includes a phone mount and a smartphone app that makes it easy to find objects in the starry sky. Your phone will guide you in which direction to turn the tube, and turning is done simply by grabbing the telescope and pointing the tube as instructed.
StarSense Explorer App for your phone
Celestron's StarSense Explorer is the first app available for consumer telescopes that allows you to use your smartphone to orient yourself to objects in the starry sky.
From the phone app, you simply select the object you want to observe. The app will instruct you in which direction to turn the telescope. The position indicated by the telescope will update in real time on the phone screen, and when you are at the desired object, the cursor will turn green.

Stargazing usually starts with learning a few constellations and locating them in the sky with the naked eye. Tonight's Best is a feature of the Starsense Explorer app that suggests the best objects to view at the moment. The list is updated according to your location, meaning the app offers the objects that are visible from your location. Depending on the season, location and time of day, the list may include planets like Jupiter or Saturn, galaxies, nebulae or star clusters.
The basic package of the Celestron Explorer LT80AZ telescope includes both a corner mirror and a reversing prism. This means that the telescope is suitable for viewing not only stars but also terrestrial objects (an image that is neither upside down nor a reversing mirror image is obtained).
