Canon's new XA65 4K camcorder is a versatile and reliable device for production use. The camcorder is suitable for professional corporate videos, documentation, online advertising shooting, nature videos and streaming. This XA65 is the exact same model as the XA60 but includes an SDI connection!

One of the most important features of professional video is sound, and the XA60 camcorder can be connected directly to two XLR microphones, the recording level of which can be adjusted during filming. The microphones are connected to the XLR connectors of the detachable camera handle. The camera also has its own internal microphone and a 3.5mm microphone connection. In total, sound can be recorded simultaneously on four channels.

The lens is equipped with a 20x zoom, with a field of view equivalent to 29.3-601mm optics. The lens has an aperture of f/1.8–2.8 and includes image stabilization.

The Canon XA65 records 4K UHD video with 8-bit color depth and 4:2:0 format at 30 or 25fps. Recording is done on two internal SD cards. Full HD videos are available at 60 or 50fps and are upsampled from 4k resolution. Full HD videos can be recorded to an external recorder via the HDMI output in 10-bit 4:2:2 format. Streaming to the internet is possible via the USB-C connector in Full-HD resolution.

The diaphragm is 8-blade and the filter thread is 58 mm. The rotating touchscreen is 3.5” (8.8cm) with 2.76M dots and the tilting electronic OLED viewfinder makes it easier to shoot from different positions. The battery type is Canon BP-8 series.
