The mains-powered, metal-built Byomic BYOST342 is a trinocular microscope, meaning the device has two eyepieces for the eyes and one tube for attaching a camera (you only need a DSLR adapter and a T2 ring).

What can you see with this? The device is suitable for examining stamps and coins, as well as observing plants, insects and other small animals. Also viewing minerals and gemstones, or working with small electronic devices and/or soldering circuit boards is no problem for this microscope.

The viewing angle of the eyepieces is 45 degrees, so the microscope can be used in a relaxed position. The interpupillary distance is adjustable between 55 and 75 mm, and the diopter of both eyepieces can also be adjusted to give you a clear view of the object. The supplied eyecups can be slid over the eyepieces to avoid being distracted by movements around the eyes and to make it easier to maintain the correct distance to the objective. Using these eyecups allows you to focus fully on the object, which benefits your observation skills.

The 130x130 mm integrated specimen stage has two sturdy clamps to hold the specimen in place. The stage is equipped with a 95 mm diameter contrast plate. This contrast plate is white on one side and black on the other, making it much easier to see certain specimens. A translucent illumination glass is also included so that the specimens can be illuminated with light from below.

The microscope has two LED lights - a bottom light that passes through the object and a ring light around the objective that illuminates the object. The bottom light is suitable for objects that pass through light and are up to 4mm thick. The illumination can be operated with two switches. The switch on the left turns the backlight on or off. The switch on the right is for the illumination, the brightness of which can also be adjusted with the wheel on the front. This ensures that the sample always has the right amount of light.

The microscope uses eyepieces with a diameter of 30mm, so it is possible to purchase other eyepieces as an additional accessory.

The diameter of the third tube, intended for the camera, is 23mm.
