The Zoom SSH-6 is an add-on for Zoom modular audio recorders (such as the H5, H6, F4, F8) when you want to combine a precise front sound with a rich, wide surround. The SSH-6e stereo filter capsule allows you to record both centered and wide stereo sound.

The SSH-6 offers two completely different microphones in the same compact housing:

Highly directional shotgun microphone (Shotgun):

Benefit: Accurately picks up speech and important sound sources directly in front. It effectively rejects side and incoming distracting sounds (e.g. traffic or audience noise). Perfect for recording dialogue or focusing sound effects.

MS (Mid-Side) stereo microphone:

Benefit: Captures the sense of environment and space. This creates a deep, realistic stereo image for background sounds. The best part is that you can adjust the stereo width in post-processing. You decide how wide your soundstage sounds!
