Urth 77mm ND8-128 Variable ND (Plus+) Filter

Urth 77mm ND8-128 Variable ND (Plus+) Adjustable Neutral Density Filter

The adjustable gray filter consists of two overlapping polarizing optical glasses, which can be rotated to adjust the amount of darkening.

The Urth filter has a range of ND8 - ND128, meaning that the filter can reduce light steplessly by 3 - 7 stops. This gives you greater freedom of choice in choosing the aperture and shutter speed, without having to use the smallest apertures on the lens.

For still photography, the adjustable ND filter lets you control exposure to achieve slower shutter speeds to suit your creative purposes.

The Urth Plus+ filter series uses German B270 SCHOTT glass with a 20-layer nano coating, which makes the filter easier to clean and provides better protection against water, oil and scratches.

An adjustable gray filter is an important tool in video shooting. It helps to control depth of field and image sharpness by better controlling aperture and shutter speed. In video shooting, the shutter speed is normally twice the frame rate. So, in 24 frames per second, the exposure time in movie mode is normally 2 x 24 = 48, or about one fiftieth of a second. With a gray filter, this rule can be maintained more easily or you can create your own more artistic effects in the video.

Another advantage of an adjustable ND filter is that you don't need to carry around many different ND filters.

• Adjustment range 3 - 7 stops (i.e. approximately ND8-ND128)
• When shooting video, you can adjust the exposure according to the fps (e.g. 1/30)
• You have complete control over depth of field, even in bright sunlight
• Forward-expanding aluminum frame
• Multi-film coated
• Easy to use: first focus the image at minimum intensity and then adjust the correct attenuation
