Made of aluminum and plastic, the Slik U8000 is a so-called beginner's tripod for your first tripod, or when you're looking for an affordable basic tripod without any extra frills.

The U8000 tripod has a maximum load capacity of 2kg, so the tripod is suitable for compact cameras, lightweight video cameras, or lightweight SLR cameras with a kit lens. If you are using a SLR camera with a long zoom (e.g. 18-135mm, 70-200mm etc.) we recommend looking at a more sturdy tripod option.

The tripod's aluminum legs consist of three parts and two plastic lever locks. Unlike more expensive tripods, the legs of the Slik U8000 tripod cannot be folded to multiple angles, but can only be folded to one angle, i.e. fully open.

The height of the center tube can be adjusted infinitely using a rotating crank. And when you raise the center tube and three legs to their maximum height, the height of the stand is approximately 150cm, which is sufficient for many situations.

The Slik U8000 tripod has a fixed tilt head equipped with a quick release plate (6122). The joint on the head allows me to rotate the camera to a vertical position for portrait shooting.
