Sigma fulfills three wishes in one lens. Now you get bright light, compact size and image quality in one package. The Sigma 10-18mm F2.8 is compatible with APS-C sensor size cameras such as the Sony A6700.
The equivalent focal length is 15-28mm, making it great for landscape photos or video shooting. The aperture is F2.8 throughout the entire focal range.
Video recording has been improved in many ways, the focus breathing phenomenon, i.e. the slightly disturbing change in the focal length of the image when focusing, has been minimized. Autofocus is agile and the transition is smooth thanks to the stepping motor and internal focusing element. In addition, the Sigma 10-18mm F2.8 Contemporary lens works with Sony's advanced focusing features.
This is a handy size and weighs only 255g, so it's great for vlogging if you hold the camera yourself and it balances well with the gimbal. This could be a good companion for a lightweight shooting set with the popular Sigma 18-50mm lens.
The lens body is made of TSC (thermally Stable Composite). But in addition to saving weight, this material does not change with temperature changes, so the lens elements remain precisely in place even when going from cold to warm.
The lens is weather-sealed around the bayonet mount.
