2019 ostettu akku aiheutti kameran sammumista "ylikuumenemisen" takia. Ilmeisesti GR3 tulkitsee vanhemman akun lämpenemisen fataaliksi ja sammuu varoituksin. Vanha akku myöskin sai kameran sekoilemaan kylmässä. Nyt on taas Ricoh GR3 toimiva uudella akulla.
