Weather-protected FullFrame sensor system camera body with improved autofocus, ISO sensitivity and more powerful Pixel Shift function. Image stabilization, GPS, Wifi.

The Pentax K-1 Mark II is an updated version of Pentax's first full-frame sensor SLR camera. The Mark II retains everything from the first-generation K-1, but adds more, offering improved autofocus, higher ISO sensitivity, and a more powerful Pixel Shift function.
The sturdy body is weather-sealed and weather-sealed in the familiar Pentax style, making it ideal for wildlife photographers as well as those shooting in damp and dusty conditions. For wildlife and landscape photographers, the body also offers other unique features, such as built-in GPS, Astrotracer mode for night sky photography, and LED lighting in the body, which makes it easier to handle the camera in dark conditions.
The camera uses the same 36-megapixel CMOS sensor and PRIME IV image processor as its predecessor. The biggest change is the so-called pre-processor, which is located between the CMOS sensor and the image processor. Ricoh says this significantly reduces noise when shooting at high sensitivities. The ISO sensitivity extends to as high as ISO 819200. The added pre-processor slightly reduces battery life when compared to the previous K-1 (670 vs 760 images per charge).

More powerful Pixel Shift Resolution II
The Pentax K-1 Mark II features a powerful Pixel Shift function . The camera can take four shots in rapid succession, shifting the image sensor slightly between each shot. These four shots are combined into a single image in the camera, increasing the resolution of the image and providing full color information in each pixel, resulting in better color separation than traditional technology.
This type of technique normally requires a tripod under the camera, but the Pentax K-1 m2 allows for handheld shooting. Handheld shooting is possible thanks to Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution, which, together with image stabilization, corrects for shakes between each shot.
The following video demonstrates the Pixel Shift function.
Faster AF tracking than ever before
The K1 MarkII's autofocus has been improved, including AF tracking, which is now faster and more accurate. The AF system's 33 focus points include 25 center cross-type points, and autofocus works down to -3 EV.
100% viewfinder image and foldable LCD screen
The body's unique hinged 3.2-inch screen is the same as its predecessor. The screen can be rotated left and right, as well as down and 90 degrees up, and pulled away from the body. The screen's mounting system is made so strong that it can support the weight of the camera if you accidentally hang the camera by holding the screen. The image is framed through a large pentaprism viewfinder, which has a full 100% field of view. The difference between the pentaprism viewfinder and the more affordable pentamirror viewfinder is especially noticeable when shooting in low light, when the pentaprism offers a clearly brighter image.
WiFi and GPS
The free Pentax app, which you can download to your smart device, gives you a live view directly from the camera. In addition, you can take pictures remotely and adjust aperture, shutter speed and ISO. The app also allows you to download images to your mobile device so you can quickly share them on social media. GPS allows you to record location data with images, so you can later see where you took any picture. In addition, the Pentax Astro Tracer function allows you to take sky photography to a new level. The GPS and the sensor work together, and the sensor moves to compensate for the movement of celestial objects during long shutter speeds. The function also takes into account where you are on the globe, what shutter speed and focal length you are using.
The Pentax K-1 body works with all Pentax K-mount lenses made since 1975, and all FA lenses work with the camera in FullFrame mode. Pentax DA lenses work automatically in crop mode, producing 15 megapixel images. The AF focus points cover almost the entire APS-C area.
