The Olympus 12-45mm F4 is a new Pro-series lens. Thanks to its reasonable F4 aperture, the lens has been designed to be very compact without compromising on image quality. In the style of Olympus' Pro series, the 12-45mm is weather-sealed for tough use. The lens' cine equivalent focal length is a very versatile 24-90mm.

The Olympus 12-45mm is not exactly a macro lens, but it focuses very close, with a focusing distance of 12cm at the wide-angle end and 23cm at the telephoto end. The lens is filled with special elements such as aspherical elements, and flare and ghosting should be minimal, and sharpness should be top-notch throughout the entire image area.
