NiSi Armor FX Pro Nano L395 95mm Protective Filter

A regular protective filter keeps the front lenses clean and protects them from bumps, but shatters into glass fragments on impact. NiSi Armor FX is built on a different principle: the laminated glass is developed from explosion-proof cine filters for cinema use, and it can withstand impact without shattering into fragments. If the filter breaks, it remains in one piece and does not scratch the front lenses.

Armor FX's laminated construction is the same as that found in high-end film camera filters and car windshields. The glass can withstand even heavy impacts without shattering, meaning the risk of damaging the valuable front lens coating is minimized even in the event of a major impact.

On the other hand, the brass frame, laminated glass and high-quality coatings also make this a good choice as a protective filter to be worn on the lens at all times, meaning you don't need to remove it after using a crash cam or shooting action!

UV filtering cuts wavelengths below 395 nm, which reduces blue tint and haze, especially in outdoor photography, but this filtering is often also in front of the camera sensor, so its main function is to protect the optics.

The optical quality of the cine-grade glass is at a good level: double-sided multi-layer nano-coatings keep light transmission at 99 percent and reflections and ghosting to a minimum. The glass is precision ground on both sides, which means that image quality is maintained even at high megapixel counts and 8K resolution.

The frame is made of brass , which is a better choice than aluminum for filter frames: brass will not cut into the lens threads even with heavy use or temperature changes. The two-tone twill pattern frame has a roughened surface that provides a good grip even with gloves or in wet conditions. The front of the frame has its own filter thread , so a polarizing filter or ND filter can be screwed on without an adapter ring.
