The Prostaff 5 telescopes are Nikon's entry-level telescope models. The Prostaff 5 telescopes are approximately 20% lighter than Nikon's previous model series. The body has two screw mounting points that allow the telescope to be securely mounted on a tripod, with or without the optional digiscoping system.

Bright field of view thanks to large objective lens. All lenses and prisms in the body and eyepieces are multi-coated and made of lead-free and arsenic-free eco-glass.

Waterproof (up to 1 meter for 10 minutes) and fog-free thanks to O-ring sealing and nitrogen filling.

A digiscoping mount is available for all three eyepieces.
