The difference between this 420CSU stand and the 420B stand is that the legs and the bottom part of the center tube are made of steel. The top two parts of the center tube are made of aluminum. The load capacity is higher than the 420B stand.

Manfrotto 420CSU model boom stand for studio light, flash or microphone. The transverse boom makes it easy to move the light and move it above the subject or at an angle upwards, without the stand itself being in the picture.

The 420 CSU stand can be used as a normal lighting stand, rising up to 3.9 meters. When you want to use the horizontal boom, its maximum reach is 190cm. When you don't need to use the horizontal boom, it goes inside the center tube at the joint.

The length and angle of the light stand's boom can be adjusted, as can the height of the stand. The maximum height of the stand is indeed approximately 3.9 meters. A sandbag / counterweight bag is included, which you can use to prevent the stand from tipping over.

The maximum load capacity of the light stand is 12kg, which is enough for many lights and a light shaper. When the stand is raised to its maximum height, the load capacity is approximately 1.5kg. When using the crossbar and pulling it to its maximum length, the maximum load capacity is approximately 5kg when using a 35kg counterweight.

The end of the boom section has a spigot with 1/4' and 3/8' threads for lights. The stand itself has a 5/8' (16mm) Receiver, so you can use a wide range of spigot adapters.
