The lens hood is designed specifically for use with the Canon RF 24-70mm f/2.8L IS USM lens, replacing the original Canon EW-88E lens hood. It prevents unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. The hood is made to fit perfectly with the focal length of the lens for which it is designed
The cap does not affect the use of an 82mm filter or the original Canon lens cap.
