Ilford + Paterson Film Starter Kit film development kit

A collaboratively built darkroom equipment set for developing black and white films at home. Everything you need is included! The chemicals and film can opener are from Ilford, and the measuring cups, thermometer, developing can, film coils and other accessories are quality products from Paterson.

Here's how it works in the simplest way:

1. Let's go into a dark booth, bring scissors and patience
2. Use the puller to pull the film out, then use scissors to remove the film from the spool. You can also cut a small piece of film.
3. Feeding the film onto the spiral, patience helps here but the Paterson spiral is very good
4. Spiral in a jar and a lid on top
5. Now you can turn on the lights and research the appropriate development times for the film you are using.
6. Add the developer to the jar and start the timer, start with a minute of gentle movement and then a small rotation every minute for the rest of the time.
7. Remove developer and insert pause to prevent overdevelopment of film
8. Suspension out and fastener in
9. Remove the fixative and then rinse for a longer time to ensure that no chemical residue remains on the negatives.
10. You can even hang your clothes from the shower stall to dry.

Prepare!

It may seem complicated, but it's easy to do after a little practice. For the final wash, it's worth familiarizing yourself with the Ilford Washing Method, for example, so that water waste is kept to a minimum, meaning you don't need to wash the film under running water.

For many people, this becomes easier when they buy an extra set of chemicals, the interruption can basically be replaced with just water, and the rinse aid is not needed, at least if the water is not very hard (or if you just happen to like removing marks in Photoshop.)
