The Elinchrom Translucent Diffuser is designed for use with umbrellas up to 125 cm deep. This diffuser fabric transforms an umbrella into a large, soft light source, similar in quality to a large softbox or reflector dome. It is an excellent accessory for portrait photography where even light distribution and soft shadow transitions are desired.

A versatile light shaper: By combining the diffusion cloth with the silver deep umbrella, you can create an indirect softbox-like effect. When used with the white deep umbrella, it softens the light even further and creates a very natural look.

Applications and light properties

Diffusion cloth is especially effective when you want to control glare or photograph shiny surfaces. When used with a white deep umbrella, the white inner surface of the cloth creates a slightly warmer and softer light. When used with a transparent umbrella, the putty acts as a huge light dome, filling the space with soft light.
