The Elinchrom Black Diffuser is a clever accessory that maximizes the use of your 105 cm (41") translucent Deep umbrella. This "hat" that fits over the umbrella transforms the open structure into a closed light shaper that can be used like a softbox.

The diffuser is pulled over the open side of the translucent umbrella, with the flash head in the middle. The black outer surface effectively prevents stray light from escaping into the surroundings, while the reflective silver inner surface directs the light back through the umbrella. The end result is a wide and soft light beam, but with a clear and "crisp" edge.
