The DJI Ronin 4D is a completely new kind of cinema camera. The DJI Ronin 4D combines a full-frame camera with 8K resolution and a gimbal stabilizer in the same device. The stabilizer also works on the z or vertical axis, which means stabilization in motion is more effective than a basic gimbal and all sensor-based stabilization.

This 8K Combo is a more robust version of the device and is ready for filming gigs right away:

The device works well in various types of productions as a primary camera and a B-camera, even at the Hollywood level. You can use it to shoot documentaries in a run&gun style, but it also works great for calmer interviews and even event recordings. The stabilization can be turned off, so you can always come up with creative solutions yourself.

In other respects, the DJI Ronin 4D 8K is a film camera, meaning it comes with good recording codecs such as ProRes 422 and in this 8K Combo version also a Prores RAW license (this is activated separately on the DJI website), 8K shooting is possible at up to 75P speed depending on the aspect ratio and 4K shooting at 120P speed. The stated dynamic range is 14.7 stops. In addition, it comes with a sturdy battery, good thermal management, adjustable ND filters, LIDAR autofocus (with accessories, this can also be focused with manual focus cinema lenses) and Active Track object-following focus borrowed from DJI Drones.

A long list of accessories comes standard, but DJI Ronin 4D is now compatible with a very comprehensive ecosystem of accessories such as I/O expansion units and wireless image transmission.
