The DJI Matrice 30 is DJI's mid-range professional drone for government use, inspections, mapping and photography. The Matrice 30 is IP55 protected and the drone has a flight time of 41 minutes. The drone's self-heating hot swap batteries enable quick battery changes and operation in temperatures between -20°C and 50°C.
All systems in the Matrice 30 are designed with safety in mind, and most systems are redundant. The drone has an ADS-B receiver for monitoring other air traffic. Integrated cameras and sensors in the fuselage provide comprehensive data collection capabilities, making the Matrice 30 series suitable for many commercial applications. The delivery includes DJI Care Enterprise Basic product coverage for 12 months.
The DJI Matrice 30 weighs 3.77 kilograms and can carry a maximum payload of 228 grams. The weight of the drone makes the Matrice 30 a stable platform for filming, mapping and inspection. The images taken are very readable with up to 60x zoom, which allows you to see the mounting screws on the pole, for example.
The Matrice 30 series drones have a built-in laser rangefinder that allows you to measure the distance from the drone up to 1200m.
The rangefinder can also be used to measure the distance and area of distant points.
All six sides of the DJI Matrice 30 are equipped with dual-eye and ToF sensors for obstacle avoidance and situational awareness. Several of the drone’s critical components are duplicated. For example, the device has two IMU (inertial measurement units) instead of the usual one. The device also has two barometers, two compasses, two RTK antennas, and six pairs of sensors for environmental observation. In addition, the drone has an ADS-B in receiver, which provides a warning of nearby aircraft.
The device uses two batteries. If one of them fails mid-flight, the Matrice 30 can land safely on one battery. The device is capable of operating on four different signal frequencies and automatically switching frequencies when interference is detected in the control signal. The device also supports O3 and 4G hybrid signals.
If one of the four propellers or engines fails, the Matrice 30 will retain some of its controllability even when landing on three engines/propellers.
The Matrice 30 is IP55 weatherproof and one of DJI's most protected drones. The device can be operated in temperatures from -20 to +50 degrees Celsius and in wind conditions of up to 15 m/s (12 m/s recommended). In windy conditions, the drone does more stabilization and the flight time is about half an hour.
The DJI Matrice 30 supports AES encryption on the memory card. The drone also has a local data mode that keeps all data on the device and erases all device data with the press of a button if necessary. Video is encrypted with AES-256 encryption.
The DJI Matrice 30 drone comes with the DJI RC Plus Enterprise controller, which significantly improves your productivity compared to a consumer controller. Equipped with a high-quality display, the controller has more buttons for quick access to the most frequently used flight functions. The six variable-function buttons change their function depending on the function and camera being used on the drone at the time.
