The Deity S-Mic 3 is a professional-grade shotgun microphone that delivers broadcast-quality sound, exceptional lightness, and a weather-resistant design. A reliable companion for film and TV productions.

The Deity S-Mic 3 is a full-size, professional-grade shotgun microphone that sets a new standard in sound quality and usability. It is designed specifically for filmmakers, TV producers and documentary filmmakers who demand broadcast-grade audio in the most challenging conditions. The biggest innovation of the microphone is its incredible lightness: the body made of high-quality aluminum alloy weighs only 80 grams, making it up to 60% lighter than its predecessor.
Feather-light for boom use: The microphone's exceptionally low weight of 80 grams is an invaluable advantage, especially when the microphone is held at the end of a boom pole for long periods of time. It significantly reduces the strain on the arms and makes it easier to control movements.
The S-Mic 3's supercardioid pickup pattern is optimized so that its most effective listening area is approximately a 45-degree beam in front of the microphone. This gives a little leeway in fast-paced situations or when the interviewee is moving, for example, without significantly changing the tone of the voice (low off-axis coloration). At the same time, the microphone effectively attenuates side and back interference sounds.
The microphone also has excellent sound pressure tolerance (up to 130 dB SPL). This means it can handle everything from whispers to sudden booms or screams without any distortion. In addition, the microphone body is designed to effectively block radio frequency (RF) interference that can be caused by phones or other wireless devices.
With its CNC-machined aluminum body, the S-Mic 3 can withstand the rigors of daily use. As a condenser microphone, it requires external power (24V or 48V Phantom power), which is supplied via a cable by professional recorders and cameras. There are no separate switches on the device, making it extremely straightforward and reliable to use.

Important compatibility note: Because this microphone uses a professional-grade XLR connector and requires external power (Phantom power) to operate, it cannot be connected directly to the 3.5mm microphone jack on a standard DSLR or smartphone without a suitable adapter. To use it, you will need an XLR cable and a device that supplies power (such as a separate audio recorder or an XLR audio adapter that mounts on the camera).
