The Deity Microphones C23 is a cable designed to transmit the timecode signal from the Deity TC-1 timecode generator to selected Sony mirrorless cameras. The cable allows timecode to be recorded directly into the metadata of the video file, eliminating the need to convert the LTC signal to a separate audio track on the camera.

The cable connects an external timecode generator directly to the camera's Multi Interface Port. By inputting timecode directly into the metadata, post-production workflows are accelerated as editing software can automatically synchronize multi-camera and external audio recorder footage based on timecode without a separate audio synchronization step.

From a mechanical and leverage perspective, Sony's Multi Interface Port is small and prone to damage. If the cable is pulled or the weight of the generator is hanging on it, a strong mechanical torque is generated in the connector, which can break the camera port. The use of the supplied Velcro fastener is physically necessary: ??it transfers the tension and mass pulling force of the cable to the camera body or cage, preventing leverage on the connector and ensuring signal integrity.
