Canon Macro Twin Lite MT-24EX

The MT-24EX close-up flash is compatible with all EOS digital SLR cameras. Fully automatic E-TTL II metering ensures accurate flash exposure in all situations. Each flash head has a guide number of 12, so together they produce a guide number of 24. This provides sufficient flash output even at high magnifications.

Shoot creatively by controlling two flash heads together or separately. Adjust the flash ratio between the flash heads with a six-step setting and create multi-level lighting effects. The circular lens mount* allows the close-up flash to rotate around the lens, illuminating the subject from either side, above or below. You can also detach the flash heads from the mount and position them separately. This gives you more control over the direction of the light or creates multi-level lighting.

Use the close-up flash as a wireless master flash to trigger remote EX-series Speedlites. You can also control a third lighting group of one or more slave Speedlites to effectively illuminate the background of your subject, for example.

Using a high magnification factor can make focusing difficult. Both flash heads have a focus illuminator that helps with manual focusing by illuminating the subject. Two different modeling flash settings allow you to trigger a stroboscopic pre-flash using the depth-of-field preview button. At the default setting, both flash tubes fire at the appropriate output to assess shadows.

Compact and easy to carry, the MT-24EX uses four AA batteries or an external battery pack such as the CP-E4. AA batteries provide a short recharge time, so you can keep shooting without having to wait between shots.
