Original Canon BG-E22 battery grip for the Canon EOS R body. The battery grip provides a firm grip on the body.

The battery grip also functions as a battery charger (note: LP-E6N only) using the included Canon PD-E1 adapter . This means you can use the cable that comes with the camera and the battery grip to charge two batteries on shooting trips. The PD-E1 can also be used to charge the battery directly in the camera. Charging is also possible with a combination of a USB-C cable and a power bank with a 3A power supply.

The battery grip has a shutter release button and a control dial for taking vertical pictures. The Canon BG-E22 vertical shooting grip works with one or two LP-E6 or LP-E6N batteries (the accessory battery is also compatible). The battery grip also has a PC-sync flash port for connecting a studio flash, this port is missing from the camera body.
