The Blackvue DR970X-2CH Plus II 64Gb dash cam records high-quality 4K Ultra HD footage from your car. The camera is equipped with a 5GHz WiFi connection, which allows you to easily view and transfer images to your mobile device, for example.

The camera is also compatible with the optional CM100 LTE connectivity module or Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g. a car hotspot) for remote access.

The DR970X-2CH Plus II set includes two cameras: a front camera and a rear camera. The camera has an accelerometer and GPS so it can automatically record moments where something important is happening: collisions, parking collisions, sudden acceleration, hard braking, sharp turns and speeding. Buffered recording ensures that event clips also include the moments before the event.

The front camera is mounted in the car behind the rearview mirror and the rear camera is mounted at the top of the rear window. The camera is powered via a USB-C connection and comes with a power cable and cigarette lighter adapter.

When installing, it is important to note that the car's USB and cigarette lighter connections usually lose power when parked. If you want the dash cam to record for longer periods of time, the camera must be installed on a power source that provides continuous power. A wiring harness is included to connect to the fuse box, but options include an optional power adapter to connect to the OBD II connector or a separate power bank for the dash cam.

Parking attendant, meaning it records even when the car is parked

The Blackvue cameras have a parking mode that allows the car camera to act as a parking monitor. When the vehicle is turned off, the device's motion detection is activated. As soon as the camera detects movement, it starts recording video.

The device starts recording five seconds before the subject appears on the screen (this is based on the device's memory buffer). The DR900X camera has a built-in battery monitor, which ensures that the device does not drain the car battery. A cable is included that allows you to connect your dash cam to the car's fuse box. This means you do not need to buy a separate Power Magic monitor.

All BlackVue dash cams automatically enter “Parking Mode” when the car is stationary for a few minutes. If the car is parked and the engine is turned off, the dash cam will continue to record.

Blackvue records continuously in the camera's buffer memory in Parking Mode, BUT the video is only saved to the memory card when the camera detects motion. The video file saved to the memory card starts 5 seconds before motion is detected.

The DR970X Plus II model features an event file protection function that protects 50 critical event recordings from being overwritten. The dash cam also comes with two standard parking mode settings: motion detection and time-lapse recording, both of which have pre-collision recording capabilities.

The Plus II camera comes with 1GB of free cloud storage for backing up important videos, expandable to 5GB. The BlackVue Cloud service offers remote live viewing, push notifications and direct event uploads, providing peace of mind.
