This is small! The Canon RF 24-50mm is probably the manufacturer's smallest standard zoom ever. Still, it has managed to pack in quite capable features and image stabilization.
The Canon RF 24-50mm combined with a small body like the EOS R8 or EOS RP is a real treat to have around. Weighing just 210g, you can get a ready-to-shoot set that weighs just over half a kilo - and that's with a full-frame sensor.
The aperture is quite low, like the previous RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 lens, but on the other hand, this is precisely what keeps the size in check. Fortunately, new mirrorless cameras also work well at these aperture values. For situations that require aperture or shallow depth of field, we recommend pairing the lens with, for example, the RF 35mm F1.8 IS or RF 50mm F1.8 lenses in the same camera bag.
