The fast 35mm is a tool when you want to combine a suitably wide angle of view with an impressively short depth of field. Often this focal length is combined with, for example, 85mm optics and this is a very capable set for, for example, shooting events or focal lengths for producing versatile portraits in the environment. And the lighter weight and smaller size always make it easier to carry this set with you, especially if you also use two bodies.

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 II image quality is also great for this kind of professional photographer. The technical characteristics of the image are already in order at full f/1.2 aperture and become even more refined with smaller apertures. According to the initial test images, the difference is quite noticeable compared to the previous version.

The lens has several special lenses and distortions have been corrected to a minimum. Current 60+ megapixel bodies are cameras that are merciless when it comes to lenses and this Sigma is designed for these exacting requirements.

In addition to sharpness, the appearance of the image has been important in the design of the optics . The depth of field smoothly changes from sharp to out of focus, and the backgrounds are softly beautiful, meaning they do not attract attention in the images, but the subject is the main part. There are 11 diaphragm blades and these are rounded so the image remains beautiful even when closed down.

Today's cameras are fast at focusing and this requires a lens that can keep up. Sigma has updated the lens with the latest HLA linear actuators, there are two of these in the lens, like super telephoto lenses, and these control two separate lens groups. So autofocus is fast, accurate and quiet.

The so-called Focus breathing phenomenon is also minimized, meaning that in video shooting the image size does not change disturbingly as the focus shifts. Performance is good in single focus and continuous focus, meaning the Sigma 35mm DG II is great for video shooting.
